Biography

Michael Scarcelle, Baritone

Michael Scarcelle  has performed with such companies as the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Colorado Symphony, Gotham Chamber Opera, Greenwich Music Festival and Central City Opera. His performed roles include Guglielmo/Cosi, Der Sprecher/Flute, Schlemil/Hoffmann, masetto/Giovanni and the title role in Arne4 s Artaxerxes.  Among the bass baritone's recent oratorio credits include Bach's Magnificat at the National Cathedral and his Avery Fisher Hall debut this spring in Verdi's Requiem.  Before completing his Master of Music degree at Yale School of Music, Michael studied at Hunter College, The Catholic University of America, and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  2007 marks his debut in France with Lyrique en Mer.
